When we say grilling, we can bet that one of the first things that comes to mind is burgers!
Did you know that our local farmers offer more than just beef patties? On top of the classic beef burgers, you can also try out bison burgers, lamb burgers, or fish patties this barbecue season! Or grab a package of ground chicken and make your own chicken burgers.
And don’t forget to think about your toppings! Of course there’s ketchup, mustard, onions, lettuce… but feel free to get creative with types of cheese, sauce, or vegetables you add to your burger masterpiece!
Pasture Raised Chicken
If your family prefers chicken to beef, you can’t go wrong with your pasture-raised options.
Develop a tasty marinade with your favourite spices and sauces, and let the chicken sit in the marinade overnight. Whether it’s chicken breast, chicken drumsticks, chicken thighs, or chicken wings – the marinade will give these cuts a lot of flavour that will only get better on the grill!
Sweet and sour, honey garlic, hot and spicy, or smokey barbecue sauce – no matter what you prefer, your chicken will be delicious and tender. Just keep in mind that pasture-raised meat is a lot leaner than grocery store meat, so it won’t need as much time on the grill.
